Cup of Thoughts Therapy
A Safe Healing Journey.
Sarah's Specialty
No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to walk with you on it! I specialize in maternal mental health, so whether you are thinking about becoming a mom, currently pregnant, or at any stage of the postpartum ride I am here for you. I also specialize in trauma. With all things maternal mental health, trauma can often get wrapped up in that. I am here to support you in reorganizing your traumatic experiences so you can be the best mom and human possible! I am certified in Brainspotting which can be a wonderful tool to use in session. I love utilizing Brainspotting with my clients who are open to it, and who are ready to evolve in ways that you couldn’t have imagined before. I truly believe you have un-tapped strength that is ready to be revealed!
In my work, I believe the relationship between client and therapist is extremely important. I hope to create a trusting, safe, and even fun environment for you to heal in. When we feel safe, our bodies respond positively, and open up in ways that we otherwise wouldn’t. I am always open to feedback on how to create the safest most effective space for you while in session!
I’m truly passionate about this work! I would love to offer any skills, knowledge, and support that I can as you embark on this journey. I believe in you and your ability to create the life you have always dreamed about! If you think we might be a good fit, please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation.

My Best Work
My passion has always been working with women in all seasons of life. I find myself especially called to working with women as they navigate motherhood, trauma, relationships, and all of the topics that may come up in this season of life.

How I Began My Career as a Therapist
In some ways I fell into my career as a therapist. I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school. I took a criminology course at a community college and became very interested. The professor of that course suggested I investigate social work or counseling, and here we are!
I did my undergraduate and graduate degrees with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Both of my internships were centered around mothers and children. I have used these skills to work for Children’s Hospital in a specialized program that helps prevent postpartum depression, as well as more traditional therapy. I’m grateful to be a part of this practice because it allows me to utilize all of the skills I have acquired to be a part of someone’s healing.
I also have a tremendous passion for trauma. I am a certified Brainspotting clinician and love to utilize it with clients who are willing and ready. Brainspotting has changed the way that I practice as a therapist and look at healing all-together. I have found that the journey from maidenhood to motherhood involves so much care, patience, and trauma-informed practices. I utilize a holistic approach which includes meditation, mindfulness, and a touch of humor. If you feel called to heal in this way, I’d love to walk next to you as you embark on this voyage!

About me
I have always been a lover of people. I find myself so moved by people’s stories, and now looking back, it makes sense why I enjoy being a therapist so much. When I’m not working, I absolutely love being outside. I love water, hiking, and gardening.
I recently had my first baby-a daughter who has brought a whole new meaning to my life and my work as a therapist. I also have a wonderful husband and an adorable dog named MooMoo. We love baking, cooking, and spending time in nature as a family.
If you feel called to anything I’ve shared, I would love to work with you and watch you grow and evolve!
