Perinatal Mental Health

Trained Perinatal Therapists

All of our licensed therapists are trained through Postpartum Support International and are qualified to support the perinatal population.

Pregnancy and Postpartum

Many emotions can surface during pregnancy and postpartum. You may feel joy and gratitude while also experiencing guilt, anxiety, shame, intrusive thoughts, or sadness. These mixed emotions are common among parents and do not reflect a lack of love or appreciation. The hormonal changes, identity shifts, and responsibilities that come with this stage of life can all influence how you feel.

Specialty Focus

Our therapists specialize in:

  • Perinatal mental health (pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond; pregnancy and infant loss)

  • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including:

    • Depression

    • Anxiety

    • OCD

    • PTSD

    • Bipolar disorder

    • Postpartum psychosis

  • Postpartum PTSD (traumatic birth, NICU experiences, nightmares, flashbacks, or increased irritability)

  • Unresolved childhood trauma (emotional neglect, sexual or physical abuse, family substance use, and related experiences)

  • ADHD and neurodivergence across the perinatal and parenting experience

  • Family systems and relationship dynamics during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood

  • Support for parents navigating identity changes, emotional regulation, and life transitions

Finding balance can be challenging, and it’s common to feel alone even when surrounded by others.

Loss and Grief

Pregnancy or infant loss can bring unimaginable pain and grief. We provide a safe and compassionate space to process and begin healing.

Postpartum PTSD

Postpartum PTSD can develop after a traumatic birth, NICU stay, or other distressing experiences. Therapy helps process memories, reduce intrusive symptoms, and foster calm and stability.

How We Can Help

We’ll work together to process uncomfortable emotions in a safe, supportive environment. Your therapist will guide you in learning coping skills, grounding techniques, and ways to regulate intense emotions. Healing happens at your pace, and as you release what’s been held inside, you’ll begin to notice greater calm and clarity.

Location

All sessions are offered online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform via SimplePractice. You can attend therapy from the comfort of your home, even while caring for your child.
