Olivia Hageness, MS, LPC

Olivia’s Approach:

I believe that the healing experience is unique to each individual. I do not practice through a “one size fits all lens.” In our time together we will explore beliefs about self or the world that are playing a part in holding you back from fulfillment and balance in your life. Sessions are structured around your needs in the moment while keeping you on track to reach your goals.

My experience and background in trauma-informed care and utilizing EMDR allows me to aid clients to their breakthrough around limiting beliefs about self, attachments and breaking patterns that are no longer serving them. I value human connection and holding the lantern for you when life is feeling dark and unknown.

Whether you are navigating fertility, pregnancy, loss, uncertainty around becoming a parent, becoming a new parent or desires to become a parent. We will work together to find a path that feels safest for you to process whatever stage of life you are in.

My Therapeutic approaches include:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. By reducing the emotional intensity of difficult memories, EMDR can help you move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you develop psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than fighting them. Together, we'll focus on building mindfulness skills and taking meaningful actions that align with your values, even during life's challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that helps identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. By developing healthier coping strategies, you can improve your mood, reduce anxiety, and feel more equipped to manage everyday stressors.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness encourages you to become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. These techniques can help reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and create a greater sense of calm and presence in daily life.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-centered therapy provides a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and together we'll build on your strengths to support healing, growth, and lasting change.

Services:

All sessions are provided via Telehealth through SimplePractice, a secure and HIPAA-compliant video platform. Each session is approximately 55 minutes long.

Parents are always welcome to bring their baby or toddler into sessions as needed.

How I got here:

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022. Navigating Graduate school while pregnant and entering my career as an LPC-IT working with children in an occupational, speech and physical therapy setting. Upon the birth of my daughter I re-evaluated my identity and life goals and landed with a private practice closer to home, expanding my education in trauma informed care.

Here I was introduced to EMDR and quickly became trained in 2024. EMDR has expanded my ability to support clients on their journey to balance and stepping into their ideal selves.

About me:

I identify as someone who values slow mornings, sipping on a coffee and slowing down to make room to process the complexities of life. Although life doesn't always look like this, it is the feeling I strive to circle back to. My husband and I are in the thick of parenting a little girl full of fire and curiosity which comes with “all of the things.” My journey with fertility and pregnancy losses has steered me towards working with such a strong, inspiring and often under-supported Perinatal Community.

My free time includes attempting to let go of control while giving my best attempt at raising a well rounded human being. Park dates with my family, engaging in a competitive sport, camping, hiking and taking in nature when the opportunity presents itself.
